UNINOVA - Institute for the Development of New Technologies at the NOVA School of Science and Technology participates in a project that intends the robot "Júlia 1" to be able to decontaminate, in a practical and efficient way, large spaces, such as health units, factories, offices or shopping centers.
The multidisciplinary team is combining the characteristics of various devices on the market into a unique robot that uses green technology. The solution, which uses ultraviolet radiation, allows an effective, safe and autonomous disinfection of the air and surfaces.
This project, which will last six months, results from the cooperation protocol that still includes Somincor, concessionaire of the Neves-Corvo mines, in the municipality of Castro Verde (Beja) and the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo, in Beja.
