Nova SBE Executive Education in the World’s Top 18 of the Financial Times ranking

Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) has climbed four places to reach the best position ever achieved by a Portuguese school - 18th in the world - according to the Financial Times, which has just published its ranking of business schools from around the world that offer executive education.

"The result achieved by Nova SBE, 18th in the world (the best ever achieved by a Portuguese school in this ranking), consolidates our leadership in Portugal, both in open and customised programmes, which makes us very satisfied and proves that we are on the right path to creating a community of talent and knowledge with an impact on the world", emphasised Pedro Oliveira, Dean of Nova SBE, upon the announcement that SBE has now appeared in this top 18 world ranking. By working with companies and organisations, we have been able to transform the economy and society, creating leaders who are ready to understand their role and responsibility in building a fairer and more sustainable society," he concluded.

According to the results now announced, Nova SBE also stands out for being the highest-ranked Portuguese school in this Financial Times ranking for the fourth consecutive year, confirming its national leadership in executive education in Portugal.

Through the programmes it offers, Nova SBE's Executive Education establishes itself as a platform that generates a direct impact on the economy, namely through the involvement of public and private institutions in the development of competitiveness in Portugal, especially SMEs, which make up the majority of the Portuguese business fabric.

In specific rankings, Nova SBE's performance in Open Programmes stands out (29th in the world) in the indicator of International Participants, in 8th place worldwide, reflecting the strong commitment to the internationalisation of its programmes.

In the Customised Programmes ranking (16th in the world), the Partnerships with Other Schools indicator stands out (6th in the world), reflecting the work carried out and the partnerships achieved with organisations of excellence, such as the business schools belonging to the UNICON global network. Another example is the Exponential Business Administration (xBA) programme, the result of a partnership between Nova SBE and StartSe, which won an international innovation award at the MERIT Summit 2022 in Madrid.

In 2023, schools of excellence such as INSEAD and the University of Oxford will return to this executive education ranking: Saïd, which will return in 3rd and 14th place respectively, reinforcing the excellence of the group that makes up the world's top 18, of which Nova SBE's Executive Education is a part.

"The proximity to our corporate partners, the quality of our teaching staff and the school's vision, which is focused on impact, are some of the reasons for this success. But also the avant-garde culture that is reflected in the teaching methodology, namely through the integration of real challenges faced by companies, the introduction of new learning technologies and the support for the professional development of students", emphasises Pedro Brito, Associate Dean of Executive Training at Nova SBE, adding that "since we began our journey in executive training, we have been committed to helping people and organisations prepare for their future".
