Access to Higher Education - NOVA increases first choice applications

NOVA University Lisbon placed 2932 students in the first phase of the national competition for access to public higher education 2021/2022, having increased by 11% the number of first choice applications. In other words, 5015 students aspired, as a first choice, to enroll in a NOVA course.

NOVA University Lisbon leads, at national level, in sixteen courses in different areas, that is, in 40% of its total offer: Anthropology; Cellular and molecular biology; Conservation-Restoration; Political Science and International Relations; Communication Sciences; Language Sciences; Musical Sciences; Philosophy; Geography and Regional Planning; History; History of Art; Sociology (after-work regime); Translation; Nutrition Sciences; Information Management; Information Systems and Technologies.

As for the Lisbon region, NOVA also leads in the following courses: Biochemistry; Data Science; Law; Economics; Portuguese Studies; Management; Languages, Literatures and Cultures; Math; Medicine; Sociology.

For João Sàágua, Rector of the NOVA University Lisbon, “the increase in the number of first choice applications is the recognition of the excellence of NOVA's teaching and reinforces our mission as a university committed to the development of the country, to which it must serve through knowledge ".
