NOVA with the best results ever in the first phase of the National Access to Higher Education Competition

NOVA University achieved the best results ever in the first phase of the National Access to Higher Education Competition 2016/2017 with 100% vacancy occupancy rate, calculated based on the number of placed students (2711), which includes stalemate situations, versus the number of vacancies (2706). Out of the 38 cycles of study offered by NOVA only two had vacancies left for the next phase of the access competition (8 vacancies).

NOVA registered a growth of first choice applications over the previous year from 4185 to 4454. This indicator has increased 33% since 2013, confirming the growing preference of students and the confidence of families in the quality of education delivered by this institution.

Alongside these results, and taking into account the entry average of the last placed candidate, NOVA maintains national leadership in 11 study cycles that represent 30% of its teaching offer. In Lisbon, this leadership rises to over 50% since NOVA has improved its position when compared to 2015, leading in 20 courses, 3 more than the previous year.

In the words of the Rector of NOVA University, Professor António Rendas "We are particularly pleased for having achieved the best results ever with indicators certifying our reputation and the attractiveness of our institution. In a time in which rankings are so valued this is the national "ranking" that validates the direct recognition of students and their families, thus corroborating that NOVA is a reference among Portuguese universities, by providing quality training and preparing students for life and for the labor market."
