Researcher Matthias Knorr, from NOVA’s Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, is the winner of the 26th edition of IBM Scientific Prize, being the sixth time that a FCT/NOVA research work is distinguished.
The project seeks to contribute to advance the state of the art, developing the theory, methods, and even to provide a tool for reasoning about the integration of several very efficiently knowledge bases. The jury of the IBM Scientific Prize 2015 decided to award this prize to the researcher Matthias Knorr, considering the unique approach of his work, scientifically well-founded and the impact on the treatment of complex ontological systems, like the legal ones, characterized by incomplete or inaccurate information.
IBM Scientific Prize aims to reward works of high merit in the field of Computer Science and Information Technologies in Portugal.
