NOVA and Casa da América Latina signed cooperation protocol

Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Casa da América Latina signed a cooperation protocol to develop actions around common interests in the academic and cultural spheres. The protocol was signed by CAL General Secretary, Manuela Jádice, and NOVA's Rector, António Rendas, on 15th January 2015, at NOVA's Rectorate, in the presence of Lisbon City Council Deputy Mayor, Fernando Medina.

The protocol has a duration of five years and includes the preparation of joint research projects, joint organisation of scientific, cultural and economic events, promotion and exchange of editions, and the promotion of activities of both institutions.

CAL and NOVA cooperate regularly in the scientific sphere namely in: Scientific Award CAL/Santander Totta (with a jury member, in the Social Sciences and Humanities area); parthership in the interexchange university programme Fellow Mundus, scholarship for the Tropical Healt Master of NOVA's Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical (attributed in 2014 to Costa Rican doctor Mario Granados, and specific collaborations as the atribution of the Honoris Causa degree to Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa.
