Universidade NOVA de Lisboa will award the Doctor Honoris Causa degree to the Peruvian writer, Mario Vargas Llosa. The ceremony will take place July 22nd 2014, at 6 p.m., at NOVA's Rectorate.
The award will be granted for the relevance of Vargas Llosa work in the context of the Ibero-American literature, recognised by the Cervantes Prize in 1994, and worldwide impact, recognised by the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2010.
Vargas Llosa is not only a novelist but also a well-known essayist, who writes chronics and analysis about the world providing us with informed and original opinions on the modern world.
