The Nova School of Business and Economics was awarded for the third consecutive time with the EQUIS accreditationand for the first time this accreditation is awarded for a maximum period of five years to the best Business School in Portugal according to the Financial Times (FT). This distinction consolidates the international prestige of the school, reflected in other accreditations that the school has received, as well as in the FT and EDUNIVERSAL rankings.
The EQUIS evaluation committee emphasized the impressive development of the school since 2010, date of the last EQUIS accreditation, academic quality and excellence in the areas of research, especially in Finance which allowed the development of the best Portuguese Masters in Finance and ranked #22 in the world, according to the FT. Other highly valued aspects included the School’s internationalization and geographic expansion to Portuguese speaking countries (Lisbon, Luanda, S. Paulo and Maputo).
EQUIS is a European accreditation institution leader in the management areas which aims to evaluate the academic quality and its improvement in Management and Business schools.
For Professor José Ferreira Machado, Dean of Nova SBE, this is a distinction that honors the school and turns out to be an excellent teamwork: "We are very proud with the EQUIS accreditation for the maximum period of five years and we are also very determined to exceed the objectives established for the renovation of the accreditation in 2018, which should already be held in campus of Carcavelos."
