NOVA achieved an unprecedented result in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) 2025 Call, strengthening its position within the European reserarch landscape.
As the call reached a record number of funding for Portuguese institutions, NOVA secured funding for 11 candidates, hitting a success rate of 12,9%, superior to the national (8,1%) or European (9,3%) results.
The MSCA-PF is a Horizon Europe call by the European Commission, designed to promote international mobility for outstanding postdoctoral researchers. Researchers supported by this programme can develop their research in a different country and foster the high impact of their scientific journeys.
The 2025 call hit a historic milestone with the highest number of submissions ever recorded, making NOVA’s achievement even more remarkable within one of Europe’s most competitive funding instruments.
To these results, NOVA adds 2 funded proposals within ERA Fellowships, a complementary funding that supports high-quality MSCA-PF proposals in mobility to Widening countries, such as Portugal.
In total, NOVA has 13 funded proposals distributed among four Schools: NOVA FCSH (5), NMS (3), ITQB NOVA (3) and Nova SBE (2). With this performance,“NOVA has reaffirmed its strategic commitment with scientific excellence, internationalization and attractiveness of researchers with high potential, and consolidates NOVA’s presence in the competitive European research ecosystem”, tells Vice-Rector for Research and Advanced Training, Professor Cecília Roque.
