SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation

ODS 6 - Água potável e saneamento

Nova University Lisbon contributes to tackle the SDG 6 through research, and by defining sustainable management policies that promote efficient water consumption and reuse. All campi provide free access to clean tap water and some of NOVA's Academic Units signed-up to the exclusive consumption of tap water in their facilities. By encouraging the consumption of tap water, NOVA promotes environmentally sustainable solutions and universal access, while incentivizing the reduction in plastic packaging.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • EcoSens Aquamonitrix consolidates research outputs from previous R&D projects to demonstrate & bring to market a novel water quality monitoring integrated solution to meet the requirements for frequent water quality monitoring under the Water Framework Directive.
  • In partnership with Academia das Águas Livres from EPAL, the post-graduation program "Water Technology and Management" offers structuring content related to the water urban cycle, promoting technology and management best practices.
