Quality Improvement and Patient Safety group (QI & PS) is committed to develop research, knowledge and innovation in the field of Quality and Safety of care and related areas.
The focus of QI&PS group is to pull advances from research, with potential relevance to quality improvement and patient safety, into daily practice. Key QI & PS challenges have been gaining greater importance due to the ageing population, increased complexity of care, polypharmacy, multimorbidity, and patient-centered care, transitions between care settings and within the same institution, and the increasing role of digital technologies and other innovations.
This group aims at ensuring that the research developed addresses existing quality and patient safety challenges that are and will be prominent in health systems and services over the next years and across a range of healthcare settings with impact at the point of care.
The QI & PS group also has the objective of being an active advocator and contribute to the decision making process regarding Patient Safety and Quality Improvement in Portugal.
