MosquitoWeb citizen science project also highlighted for its value and prestige.
A representative of the World Health Organization’s Emergency Medical Service for the European Region (WHO EUROPE) recently visited IHMT NOVA and the result of this visit can be found here: the publication outlines the main risks associated with dengue fever. Experts from the GHTM – Global Health and Tropical Medicine Research Centre emphasised the importance of surveillance and prevention of possible outbreaks of this disease on the European continent.
The IHMT NOVA’s citizen science project – MosquitoWeb – was also highlighted, with community participation seen as crucial to identifying the vector that transmits dengue in Portugal.
