It will be on November 22, 2023, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Nova School of Business and Economics, that the free seminar ‘Philosophy of Science and Doctoral Research Design‘ will take place, based on the Idea Puzzle software.
It is a decision-making tool that helps doctoral students improve the coherence of a research proposal, article or thesis, in light of the Philosophy of Science (Morais & Brailsford, 2019). It also helps to review the strengths and weaknesses of a research project, in any area of knowledge (Parente & Ferro, 2016). To date, it has helped more than 7,000 research projects across the world.
The Idea Puzzle software poses 21 questions, helps you answer them and allows you to self-evaluate each answer in terms of your decision-making status. The help function of the Idea Puzzle software includes examples of research projects in different areas of knowledge, which won the Idea Puzzle Award, as well as definitions, introductions, tips and bibliography. The result of the Idea Puzzle software is a research project with 21 answers, an overall score, and a colourful progress puzzle that can be shared in PDF or Word.
Free, although registration is mandatory, it will be led by Ricardo Morais, who has already taught it at 103 universities in 27 countries. On average, the knowledge transmitted in the seminar received an evaluation of 9.5 out of 10, by 1548 participants (response rate of 13%).
