Ranking by Stanford University shows NOVA’s growth both in the list that counts citations throughout a career and in the last year. In both lists, there are researchers from practically all NOVA schools
Stanford University has just published an update of its prestigious “World’s Top 2% Scientists Ranking“, based on data from Scopus – the reference database of article abstracts and citations for newspapers and other academic publications, covering some 19,500 titles from more than 5,000 international publishers.
The list highlights the 2% of the world’s most cited researchers in 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, taking into account the influence and impact of academic research.
The update, which includes two distinct categories – career and final year (2022) – reflects the University’s commitment to providing more accurate standardised citation metrics to combat self-citation abuse.
The career list now published includes a total of 47 NOVA researchers, consolidating the growth already recorded in last year’s list, which included a total of 44.
This elite group represents 8.2% of the national total of 572 outstanding researchers.
In the category highlighting citations from the previous year (2022), NOVA continues to impress with a total of 63 researchers, compared to 61 the previous year. This group represents 8% of the national total of 791 outstanding researchers.
This consolidates an improvement in results compared to the previous edition, with a total of 78 individual researchers highlighted (with 32 names appearing in both lists) from the different organic units of NOVA.
