NOVA University Lisbon joins the campaign, which takes place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, by lighting up the Rectory building on the Campolide campus.
This initiative comes at the invitation of the Portuguese League Against Cancer, whose campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer, encourage participation in screening and support research in this area.
The movement known as “Pink October” was born in the USA in the 1990s, with the intention of inspiring change and mobilizing society in the fight against breast cancer.
Since then, the colour pink has been used around the world to honour people with breast cancer, raise awareness about prevention and early diagnosis, and support research in this area.
