Cleocare, formerly Glooma, a NOVA Spin-off ®, was awarded the Greatest Potential for Transfer of Technological Value prize in the 2025 edition of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Macao) for Technology Enterprises from Brazil and Portugal. Cleocare was selected to participate in this competition by NOVA itself, recognizing the start-up’s potential impact in the healthcare sector.
Organized by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government, the competition brought together 17 finalists from Brazil and Portugal. The event, which aims to promote technological cooperation between Macau, China and Portuguese-speaking countries, awarded prizes to companies in areas such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, medical devices and IoT.
The prize awarded to Cleocare recognizes its high potential for transferring technological value to the Greater Bay Area – Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao. In addition to the prize money of 50.000 MOP (around 5.300 EUR), Cleocare will have access to networking and collaboration opportunities with investors, incubators and academic institutions in China, namely in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Jiangsu.
“This distinction represents an important international recognition of the work we have been doing. It is a clear sign that our technology has the potential to make a real impact in the healthcare sector, not only in Portugal but also in international markets. We would like to thank NOVA for their vote of confidence and for all their support throughout this journey”, said Francisco Nogueira and Frederico Stock, co-founders of Cleocare.
This success highlights NOVA’s role in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as internationalization in the scientific and technological field.
