InNOVA: NOVA’s new tool for evidence-based sustainability

21 de July, 2025

NOVA University Lisbon introduces InNOVA, the Environmental and Sustainability Information System, developed under the NOVA Route Zero project. This digital platform consolidates, in a structured way, a set of environmental and sustainability indicators across the university.

Currently, InNOVA is responsible for producing the annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories for Universidade NOVA, as well as disaggregated data for its organisational units. The implementation process involved active collaboration from NOVA’s nine Schools, the Welfare Services, and several Rectorate divisions. In the medium term, the system is expected to expand to include additional environmental indicators.

The platform offers two levels of access: one for the general public, providing access to the latest inventory data and the methodology used; and another for the NOVA community, granting access to disaggregated data by School, emission types, indicators, emission factors, and supporting files.

With this initiative, NOVA strengthens its commitment to sustainability, ensuring the annual monitoring of its carbon footprint and enabling more informed decision-making.
