NOVA University Lisbon expresses its deep sorrow at the passing of Dr José António Barros Veloso, a physician of recognised national and international distinction.
Between 2013 and 2019, Dr Barros Veloso served as a member of the NOVA Medical School Council, actively contributing to the development of the institution.
In 2018, he was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by NOVA, a distinction that acknowledged his exceptional contribution to medicine in Portugal, as well as his versatility in other fields, notably music.
The visitation will take place this tuesday, 2nd december, from 4 p.m. at Carnide Cemetery, in Lisbon, and the funeral will be held tomorrow, 3 December.
NOVA University Lisbon extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues, joining in mourning this irreparable loss.
