Organised by NOVA Health Systems and Policies, this webinar will address the crisis Europe is facing in primary health care – and the data speaks for itself, coming from the European Commission, the World Health Organization and the OECD: over one-third of doctors and one-quarter of nurses are aged over 55, and in 2022 it was estimated that there was a shortage of around 1.2 million doctors and nurses across the European Union.
To discuss this topic, our guest speaker is Tiago Villanueva, a family doctor at USF Reynaldo dos Santos in Póvoa de Santa Iria, Editor-in-Chief of Acta Médica Portuguesa (the scientific journal published by the Portuguese Medical Association), and President of the European Union of General Practitioners (UEMO), a non-profit organisation representing family doctors across the EU.
