NOVA University Lisbon is honoured to host the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS), dedicated to Multilateralism under Challenge and the Future of the Pact, from 1 to 3 July 2026.
The 2026 ACUNS Annual Meeting will critically assess the UN system’s capacity to facilitate multilateral cooperation and reflect on its performance since the last comprehensive UN system-wide reform effort, the UN60 World Summit in 2005.
The meeting is co-chaired by Júlia Seixas, Pro-rector of NOVA for Sustainability and Richard Ponzio, Senior Fellow & Director at the Stimson Center. The programme features distinguished keynote speakers such as Adriana Abdenur, Co-President of the Global Fund for a New Economy, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, UN Peace Operations Under-Secretary-General, and Kitty van der Heidjen, UNICEF Assistant Secretary-General.
