Find out more about the Oeiras Experimenta citizen science project, winner of the ADN Award. This project brings together researchers, local communities and policymakers in a living laboratory at the historic Quinta de Cima do Marquês de Pombal. The project’s goal is to study more resilient agricultural crops in the context of climate change, particularly in the face of drought, and to promote sustainable food production.
The Oeiras Experimenta project is being implemented through the Science + Citizen Programme, in collaboration with the Municipality of Oeiras and ITQB NOVA. It has recently been recognised by the European Union through the IMPETUS Programme, receiving an honourable mention in the European Union Prize for Citizen Science.
