Establishing a dialogue between the research on the history of animals and the oceans at the NOVA University Lisbon and the Plasticus maritimus project by Ana Pêgo, the exhibition LOST IN TIME. FINDS AT SEA reflects on the disposal of materials at sea throughout history and on key contemporary issues related to sustainability and marine pollution.
In dialogue with various artefacts from the modern era (16th-18th centuries) and their contemporaries, and using plastic as a polluting and disposable material that regularly ends its useful life in the oceans and on beaches, through these UNLIKELY COUPLES we intend to question the relationships and combinations that suggest the ancient human habit of abandoning waste and its environmental consequences.
A journey through time and a conversation between images that invites us to think differently about the problem of protecting the oceans.
