On 11 December 2025, NOVA University Lisbon will host NOVA Science & Innovation Day, an event dedicated to excellence in research and innovation, which will take place at the NOVA Rectory.
This edition promises to highlight the role of science and research in transforming society through the presentation of innovative projects, debates on Open Science and interdisciplinarity, and an Innovation Fair that will reflect the dynamism and strength of NOVA’s scientific and technological ecosystem.
The morning session will feature the presentation of research projects led by NOVA researchers and a session dedicated to Open Science, where the projects Re.Data – Network for Research Data Management and NOVA.ID-RDM-CC – Centre of Competence in Research Data Management will be presented. This will be followed by a session focused on interdisciplinary research, highlighting the three winning projects of the Ignition Grants for Interdisciplinary Research, an initiative developed in partnership with the Santander Portugal Foundation.
During the afternoon, the focus will be on the round table discussion ‘FP10 and the implications for the national landscape of the new framework programme’, which will bring together leading experts from the scientific and political spheres. The programme continues with the award ceremony for the winners of the ‘Impactful Research Narratives’ challenge, and a session dedicated to Innovation and Value Creation, which will highlight projects and spin-offs from the NOVA ecosystem.
The event will culminate with the award ceremony for the best flash talks presented by PhD students, who will have the opportunity throughout the day to present their research projects in pitch format, showcasing the next generation of scientists and innovators.
At the same time, the Innovation Fair, taking place in the Rectory lobby throughout the event, will bring together proprietary technologies, specialised services and spin-offs, reflecting the diversity and impact of the University on the national scientific and economic fabric.
