‘Science, Innovation and Society’ is the motto of Ciência 2025, an event which is establishing itself as the largest science and technology meeting in Portugal. The initiative aims to provide a platform for promoting and discussing the scientific, social, cultural and economic impact of national research, exploring the intersection between science, innovation and society to inspire new ideas and foster transformative collaborations.
Pedro Pita Barros, Full Professor at Nova SBE, and Vera Aldeias, Coordinating Researcher at the University of Algarve, are the scientific commissioners of Ciência 2025. They emphasise that the theme ‘Science, Innovation and Society’ invites comprehensive reflection on the role of science in structuring societies.
The European Commission is the guest of honour at this edition of the event, with high-level leaders in the area of Science and Innovation in attendance.
With such a diverse programme, the organisers expect more than 2,000 participants at this meeting, which will feature over 40 sessions and around 150 speakers. There will also be an exhibition area showcasing the work of 34 exhibitors, as well as a space dedicated to the presentation of scientific e-posters submitted by doctoral students from across the country. Submission of e-posters for this edition is now open, and the submission rules are available.
Ciência 2025 is organised by the Foundation for Science and Technology, the National Agency for Scientific Culture – CIÊNCIA VIVA, and NOVA, and with institutional support from the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation. Nova SBE will host the event. The event programme will be available soon. Stay tuned!
