Until October, the Glass House at NOVA FCSH will be hosting a tribute to the poem ‘Think of Others’ by Mahmoud Darwish, who is widely regarded as one of the most important figures in contemporary Arab literature. The installation invites visitors to engage with empathy, memory and collective reflection, and highlights the power of poetry as a means of listening and resistance.
Darwish’s work (1941–2008) was profoundly shaped by exile and resistance, transforming words into political, ethical and deeply human gestures. The Palestinian poet and writer authored the Palestinian Declaration of Independence in 1988.
