EUTOPIA PhD research grants: call open until 14 May

Expecting to lead to high-quality research projects with global impact and taking full advantage of the vibrant scientific environment provided by the alliance of European universities of which NOVA is part, this program of Research Grants for Doctorates opens a call for the award of six grants for those who choose NOVA as their home institution

The Call for these PhD research grants was launched last Saturday, April 15th, and foresees the attribution of six grants, financed by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), under the scope of the collaboration protocol of the EUTOPIA European University alliance, signed between NOVA and FCT.

Until May 14th (23:59, Lisbon time), the candidates should submit all the supporting documents for application, foreseen in the Announcement of the Call, through the email eutopia.phd@unl.pt.

This scholarship programme for doctoral research at NOVA University Lisbon supports high-quality PhD projects in all areas co-supervised by academics from EUTOPIA member universities - and up to 4 years, in case of considering NOVA as the funding source institution, on a co-tutelle basis with one of the following institutions of the alliance:

·        Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)

·        CY Cergy Paris Université (CY)

·        University of Warwick (UW)

·        Technische Universität Dresden (TUD)

The selected research activities should enhance the creation of synergies between the partners of the consortium and also promote the sharing of research environments between the Alliance entities involved.

The research work plan should take place partially at NOVA, being granted a mixed scholarship, of annual duration, renewable up to a maximum of four years (48 months). The period of the work plan taking place in one of the foreign institutions cannot be less than 12 months nor more than 24 continuous or interrupted months.
