NOVA against violence and war

On the day the Nobel Foundation honoured Ales Bialiatski, from Belarus, the human rights organisations Memorial, from Russia, and the Civil Liberties Centre, from Ukraine, it is worth remembering that, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, NOVA continues to support the Ukrainian people and students interested in continuing their studies: at this moment, 14 are already effectively enrolled in our schools with the emergency humanitarian student status; more than 600 have expressed their interest in applying.

NOVA contra a violência e a guerra na Ucrânia

NOVA's official statement on 26 February

As Russian armed forces are being deployed to carry out acts of aggression in Ukraine, NOVA University wishes to express its condemnation of violence and war.

We are committed to the rules and principles set out in the UN Charter, which prohibit the use of force and privilege peaceful settlement of disputes between States.

We stand in solidarity with the people affected by the Russo-Ukrainian war, whose lives and human rights are at stake. Our thoughts also go to our Ukrainian and Russian colleagues and students.
