NOVA ERC grantees meeting

One of the main objectives of NOVA is the attraction, promotion and development of talent at all levels – among students, faculty, researchers, and other staff members.

Within this context, on 31st May, the Rector, Professor João Sàágua and the Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Elvira Fortunato, held a meeting with NOVA European Research Council (ERC) Grantees.

The ERC grants support researchers in the development of frontier research and are granted solely on the basis of scientific excellence. Since its launch in 2007, NOVA researchers have been awarded 19 fellowships of different types, totalling approximately 30 million Euros, which correspond to about 20% of all the ERCs awarded in Portugal.

Currently, there are 15 researchers, spread across the various scientific areas, benefiting from this type of funding. Click here to know the projects and grants awarded to NOVA’s researchers.
