NOVA University Lisbon was distinguished with four Medals of Honor from the Municipality of Cascais, awarded to the Rector, João Sàágua, NOVA Medical School, NOVA School of Law, Nova School of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Science and Technology. The awards were presented as part of the celebrations for Municipal Day.
This recognition reflects the strengthening of the strategic relationship between NOVA and the Municipality of Cascais, a long-standing partnership marked by consistent collaboration in areas such as education, research, innovation and territorial cohesion. This collaboration began with the creation of the Nova SBE campus in Carcavelos and has been consolidated with new high-impact projects.
Amongst the different highlights, are the future facilities of NOVA Medical School and NOVA School of Law, which will be based in Cascais, as well as the creation of a new polo for NOVA School of Science and Technology, dedicated to aerospace engineering. These initiatives will strengthen NOVA’s presence in the municipality and contribute towards a regional University ecosystem, with academic, scientific, and social impact.
“Cascais stands out as one of the strategic municipalities in the realization of NOVA’s vision as a global and civic University. This close relationship with Cascais, built up over the last few years, has contributed to the strong growth and affirmation of the University, with an impact on the region and the country”, as referred by NOVA’s Rector, João Sàágua.
The award of the municipality’s Medal of Honour recognizes the role of NOVA University Lisbon as an agent of transformation and sustainable development, as well as its contribution to building a more prosperous, inclusive and supportive municipality.
