They are the latest ambassadors of the programme promoted by the Alliance of European Universities, of which we are a member. The programme aims to stimulate an interdisciplinary research community across different countries.
André Marques, a researcher at NOVA Medical School in the field of medical biochemistry, who seeks to understand how the body deals with fats and their diseases, and Ian Scott, a data scientist at NOVA Information Management School with experience in the energy and sustainability sectors, have been chosen to represent NOVA in the latest call for the EUTOPIA Young Leaders Academy (YLA) programme.

Find out more about them and the others selected from the various EUTOPIA universities.
Now in its 3rd edition, the YLA aims to support the exchange and professional development of high-potential young researchers from all EUTOPIA partner universities.
Those selected will also act as ambassadors, contributing to the activities of the Alliance and promoting the creation of an integrated research community.
The novelty this year is that representatives from EUTOPIA’s global partners Stellenbosch University (SU) and Monash University (MU) will also be included, further diversifying and internationalising this promising group.
