The lecture by the famous motivational speaker was part of the programme celebrating 50 years of NOVA – and 10 years of NOVA Doctoral School
“I help scientists to have a prosperous and promising career in the industry”. David Giltner, founder of TurningScience and famous all over the world for helping other researchers to start a career in the private sector, gave a very interesting lecture, this Wednesday, February 22, at the rectory of NOVA, as part of the 50 years of the University and the 10 years of NOVA PhD School.
World-renowned as the author of the books “Turning Science into Things People Need and It’s a Game, Not a Formula”, Giltner is a recognised speaker and mentor on the topics of technology commercialisation, product development and career design. Since 2017 he has also powered the TurningScience website – to provide training and support for scientists of all disciplines looking to work in the private sector.
Highly popular, Giltner’s talks start with the design of a career in the private sector, continue with the knowledge that better stories can be told with the same facts and how it is ultimately possible for scientists to find a rewarding career outside Academia. In short, as Giltner says of himself, he “helps scientists have a fruitful and promising career in the industry”.
