Jorge Custódio, NOVA’s Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas researcher, was distinguished by the Confederação Portuguesa das Associações de Defesa do Ambiente with Prémio Carreira 2015. The distinction recognizes his work for the environment.
Jorge Custódio is a professor, archaeologist, historian and museologist, and has, over the course of his career, dedicated special attention to the history of Portuguese heritage. He was the director of the Convento de Cristo (Tomar), and collaborated with the Portuguese Directorate General for Cultural Heritage for many years. Jorge Custódio was also the Director of Museu Nacional Ferroviário (Entroncamento) and has written and collaborated in many publications related to this topic.
