The University reinforces its commitment to the environment through the Portuguese Pact for Plastics.
Committed to actively contributing to the fight against climate change, NOVA continues promoting environmental sustainability. Recently, Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) and the research units MARE and CENSE, both from NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA), joined the Portuguese Pact for Plastics, a collaborative and innovation platform for the transition of plastics to a circular economy that brings together the Government, the different agents of the plastics value chain, the Academy and NGOs, in a total of 55 organizations.
This project, coordinated by the Smart Waste Portugal Association with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action, the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transition and the Ministry of the Sea, is part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Pact for Plastics Network. Professor and researcher Graça Martinho, from FCT NOVA and Student Ombudsperson of the University, will be the scientific coordinator.
By signing this Pact, the entities involved commit to the development of actions in order to achieve a set of ambitious goals and objectives by 2025.
