The NOVA Pedagogical Innovation Award is back – celebrating and recognising transformative, creative teaching practices that make a real impact on learning. Created with the mission of promoting excellence in teaching across all study cycles, the award now enters its fourth edition, continuing to value pedagogical approaches that challenge convention and inspire the academic community.
Previous editions have highlighted projects that reimagined the way we teach and learn from participatory models in science education, to the creation of mock trials as a method of assessment in undergraduate courses, and the use of flipped classroom methodology to make bioenergy teaching more engaging and effective.
This year, applications are open until 26 September and are open to career-track teaching staff and researchers at NOVA University Lisbon, as set out in the Award Regulations.
The evaluation criteria include, among others, the relevance and originality of the practices implemented (compared to conventional approaches), as well as teaching excellence, considering the impact and reach of the pedagogical practices.
