The 16th edition of the Economic Journalism Prize is now open

The 16th edition of the Economic Journalism Award, promoted by Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Banco Santander, will once again distinguish the best journalistic works in the area of economics and business. Articles published during the year 2021 in written or electronic media are eligible.

Outstanding works in the areas of Company Management and Business, Financial Markets, and Sustainability and Business Innovation will compete for a “Grand Prix” of 10,000 euros and the title of winner in their area. Second and third place will be awarded with the value of 5,000 euros.

The jury of the most recent edition is composed of renowned personalities linked to Social Sciences, Journalism, Finance, Sustainability and Management, namely Professor Luís Baptista (President), Dr. Carla Jorge, Professor Cátia Batista, Dr. Conceição Zagalo, Dr. Helena Garrido, Professor Paulo Pinho and Professor Pedro Coelho.

The Economic Journalism Award has already received 950 submissions in 15 editions, which resulted in the attribution of 45 awards. The initiative aims to promote journalistic creation and encourage better quality in the treatment of information, thus contributing to a more responsible, informed and participative citizenship.

The big winner of the last edition was “Os (vários) frutos do consumo verde”, written by journalist Fábio Monteiro, from Jornal de Negócios.
