We are delighted to invite you to participate in the NOVA Science & Innovation Day 2024, an event that celebrates the excellence of research and innovation at NOVA University Lisbon.
This year’s edition will take place on the 3rd of December at the Rectorate building, located on the Campolide Campus. The event aims to celebrate the talent, interdisciplinarity, and impact of the science and innovation produced at the University.
The morning programme will include the presentation of research projects led by NOVA researchers, a session dedicated to interdisciplinary research – featuring the two winning projects of NOVA’s Interdisciplinary Research Community on Sustainable Energy Systems – and the announcement of new funding opportunities for collaborative research.
Awards will also be presented for the best impact narratives, and the authors of widely cited scientific publications will be recognised.
In the afternoon, the event will highlight Citizen Science projects developed at the University and will feature a session focused on Innovation and Value Creation, where several projects and spin-offs from NOVA will be showcased.
The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on research and innovation, featuring renowned external experts. Prior to this, a representative from the European Commission will deliver a presentation on the responsible use of AI in research.
Throughout the day, an Innovation Fair will take place in the Rectory’s atrium, showcasing proprietary technologies, specialised services, CoLabs, spin-offs, and other companies from the University’s ecosystem.
There will also be a poster session displaying significant research projects developed in collaboration with non-academic entities, presented by PhD students from NOVA’s various schools.
The Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation is also expected to attend.
This event offers a unique opportunity for the academic community and the general public to get an up-close view of the excellent research carried out at NOVA University Lisbon, as well as its impact on innovation and value creation for society.
