Urban centres are, by their very nature, places where technological and scientific improvements are implemented. Lisbon, a city of hills, has always struggled to find solutions that would allow it to grow and guarantee good living conditions.

Since ancient times, water supply, sanitation, the movement of goods and mobility have been crucial and limiting issues.

On this tour, scheduled for the 9th of November, we will observe the heritage that testifies to a city in progress, and we will highlight how scientific knowledge has influenced the way of life of Lisbon’s inhabitants.

The tours, led by Ana Fernandes Pinto, a researcher at CHAM-FCSH/NOVA, are free of charge and require prior registration using the form on the NOVA Cultura website.
