NOVA is one of the partner institutions in the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN), which aims to bring together universities with a presence in major international rankings, promoting their collaborative work to increase their influence on the definition of European Union research policies.


The EUTOPIA European University is an alliance of ten European Universities, conceived as a multicultural entity of interconnected campuses, which has already expanded its global reach through partnerships with six other prestigious higher education institutions outside of Europe. Committed to an open and cohesive Europe, EUTOPIA is actively engaged in contributing to a new academic paradigm.


The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an independent body of the European Union with legal personality, established in 2008, aimed at strengthening Europe’s innovation capacity – with a series of entrepreneurial education programs and courses across Europe as its fundamental pillars of activity.

NOVA is currently part of three innovation and knowledge communities (KICs) of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology in the areas of Health (EIT Health), Raw Materials (EIT Raw Materials) and Climate (EIT Climate-KIC).


Through its inclusive policy and giving special relevance to young researchers, COST provides a unique means for researchers to freely, openly, and collaboratively develop their ideas and initiatives. COST, which stands for European Cooperation in Science and Technology, funds transnational collaboration activities in a network system of researchers across all scientific and technological fields.
