NOVA recognized as a member of the United Nations Academic Impact

The university has now an added responsibility of deepening the promotion of sustainable development goals through teaching, research and value creation, with the involvement of its entire community.

NOVA University Lisbon has just been recognized as a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), joining a group of over 1600 institutions from more than 152 countries that are working with the United Nations to promote global priorities such as peace, human rights and sustainable development.  

Founded in 2010, UNAI brings together a community of students, researchers and higher education institutions by promoting the power of education and research and harnessing the energy and creativity of young people and researchers to solve global challenges.  

UNAI assumes the commitment to support and advance ten basic principles with which NOVA identifies and is perfectly aligned – fight against poverty, capacity building of higher education systems, education for all, global citizenship, opportunities to access Higher Education, human rights, intercultural dialogue, peace and conflict resolution, sustainability and commitment to the United Nations Charter.  

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, NOVA enters 2023 with the recognition of the UNAI that makes us very proud and with the added responsibility of deepening the promotion of sustainable development goals through education, research and value creation, with the involvement of its entire community.
