Innovation at the university: NOVA Open Academy is coming

26 de September, 2024

An academy that values lifelong learning is inspired by successful international programmes that offer similar initiatives.

NOVA University Lisbon has just announced the launch of an innovative programme aimed at retired citizens and expatriates, but also at anyone who is willing to learn. Starting in October, the NOVA Open Academy will cover a range of topics, accompanied by lectures, discussion groups and workshops on a variety of topics.

João Amaro de Matos, the university’s vice-rector in charge of Education and International Development, emphasises the importance of the programme: “The university’s mission is to educate students, but also to disseminate knowledge to the different sectors of the population. And we have found that there is a great willingness among people who have been away from university for longer to receive training.

NOVA Open Academy not only responds to the educational needs of a significant segment of the population, but also strengthens NOVA’s position as an innovative institution that anticipates trends in global education.
