Launched at the beginning of April, the competition, promoted by NOVA Cultura, invited students at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa - including those on the Erasmus and SUPERNOVA programmes, as well as those enrolled in NOVA CAIRO - to express their vision of freedom by capturing moments that represent it in an inspiring way. In total, around 70 participants submitted 162 photographs.
The prize-giving ceremony took place this Wednesday 8th in the atrium of the Rectory on the Campolide campus, presided over by the Pro-Rector for Culture, Clara Rowland.
In addition to the exclusive prize created for NOVA Cairo students, whose value is equivalent to that of the honourable mention, and was awarded to Laila Babiker with the work: "Intellectual Liberation", the first three runners-up will receive cash prizes of €500 (1st prize), €300 (2nd prize) and €200 (3rd prize).
