    Scientific Text Processing with LaTeX

    LaTeX is a scientific document preparation system that allows the student to concentrate on the structure and content of the text, without having to worry about typographical details. It’s considered a fantastic resource for getting great looking and typographically correct documents - and better compared to the usual editoral programmes.

    RSD - Research Skills Development [RSD - Desenvolvimento de Competências Académicas]

    The Research Skills Development (RSD) is a course developed in collaboration with Imperial College London and was designed to cover the key transferable skills needed by early stage PhD researchers in order to enhance their personal and research capabilities. This is an immersion course that involves staying at the Convent of Arrábida for 4 days and 3 nights. The course is free for NOVA doctoral students, including transport, meals and accommodation. 

    This course is intended for Early stage PhD students at NOVA University (preferential).

    Developing Supervisory Skills [Desenvolvimento de Competências de Supervisão]

    Although supervision is one of the most crucial elements of the academic work, most current supervisors receive no specific supervisory training during their careers.     This course focuses on the development of skills to understand, redefine and/or change the path of a professional career using a stabilised framework of career planning and also to explore how to establish professional relationships potentially interesting.
