NOVA was ranked in the top 9 in Europe in the QS World University Rankings 2021 among universities founded less than 50 years ago.

Times Higher Education Ranking By Subject

TheTimes Higher Education Ranking By Subject 2021, ranks NOVA  first national position in Business and Economics and Arts and Humanities and Top 10 among young European universities founded less than 50 years ago in Business and Economics, Clinical and Health, and Education.

QS under 50

According to the QS Top 50 under 50 ranking, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa is in 8th place among young European universities, founded less than 50 years ago

NOVA is in the top 8 of young universities in Europe in the five areas of knowledge evaluated by QS:
- Arts & Humanities (6th position);
- Engineering & Technology: (8th position);
- Life Sciences & Medicine (7th position);
- Natural Sciences (5th  position);
- Social Sciences & Management (7th  position).

Ranking Eduniversal Masters 2021

Eduniversal classifies every year Management programmes at the Masters level from the world's top Universities. This year:

  • In the Eduniversal - Masters Ranking 2021, NOVA was listed in 27 of the 54 evaluated programmes.
  • Among these programmes, NOVA is in the European Top 10 in 22 areas and in the European Top 5 in 17.
  • NOVA University is the leading Portuguese institution in 26 of the 27 evaluated areas.
Ranking Eduniversal Masters 2021

Leveraged in the 5 Palmes prestige of Nova SBE (only 39 European institutions hold this distinction among the worldwide top 100 Business Schools), 6 Schools from NOVA University have ranked programmes, being clearly the best Portuguese University. From the 25 listed areas:

  • 17 from NOVA School of Business and Economics;
  • 6 from NOVA Information Management School;
  • 2 from NOVA School of Law; 
  • 1 from NOVA School of Public Health; 
  • 1 partnership between NOVA’s Information Management School/ School of Public Health/ Medical School and Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
U-Multirank 2022

NOVA University Lisbon achieved the highest score of A (Very Good) in 14 indicators of the global U-Multirank 2022, and is thus ranked 7th among young European universities.

 

CWTS Leiden

The Leiden Ranking analyses the scientific performance of more than 1000 universities worldwide.

In 2022, NOVA scientific articles had a global impact of 11.7 % in the Top 10% of most cited publications.

In the normalised impact of its production, NOVA maintained a value of 1.19, that is, 19% above the world average.

In terms of publications with female authors, the proportion is 49.6%, with NOVA occupying the 20th position at the European level and the 27th at the world level.

Times Higher Education Young University Rankings

NOVA is the 18th best among young European universities effectively founded less than 50 years ago, and leads prominently at national level.

 

THE Impact Rankings

TheTimes Higher Education University Impact Rankings monitor the performance of universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). NOVA ranks in the following positions among young European institutions:

  • 2nd in SDG 5 (Gender Equality)
  • 5th in SDG 3 (Health and Well-Being)
  • 5th in SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals)
  • 5th in SDG 9 (Industry and Innovation)
