NOVA University Lisbon is the national higher education institution with more alumni entrepreneurs, reveals the University Ranking Report 2022, prepared by Startup Portugal. NOVA trained 268 students who have later founded their own companies.
"This result, which makes us very proud, is a reflection of the continued effort in offering our students quality multidisciplinary training in the area of entrepreneurship. NOVA is a university committed to value creation, not only by promoting programmes, training and competitions, but also by stimulating the creation of new companies born from the knowledge generated at the University. This distinction is also the recognition of all the work done by our teaching staff in preparing students for the labour market and the business world", says Isabel Rocha, Vice-Rector of NOVA, coordinating the areas of research, innovation and value creation.
The first place in this ranking reinforces the result recently achieved by NOVA at international level, with the recognition as "Young Entrepreneurial University of the Year", by the Accreditation for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), which distinguished, for the first time at European level, a higher education institution for its role in creating value in society through innovation.
