The second edition of "Research Impact Narratives" challenge is open

The initiative, open to all NOVA faculty and researchers, welcomes applications until 7 June.

Committed to highlighting the impact of scientific research on society NOVA University Lisbon announces the second edition of the "Research Impact Narratives" challenge, inviting researchers from all its Research Units to communicate the impact of their projects through narrative writing.

The objective of this challenge is twofold: to encourage researchers to communicate the impact of their research in a clear and accessible way, and to demonstrate to society that the funding they receive not only contributes to the advancement of knowledge, but also generates a multitude of impacts in social, environmental, political, cultural, technological, economic, or health domains.

The application period runs from April 24 to June 7, 2024. The initiative is open to all faculty and researchers affiliated with any of NOVA's Academic Units, regardless of their field or discipline. Projects or initiatives must have a scientific basis and demonstrate significant impact.

During this second edition, researchers will have access to support material provided by NOVA, as well as a webinar titled "Research Impact: why it matters to you," which will take place from 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM on May 14, featuring international expert Jonathan Grant. Registration for the webinar is mandatory and must be completed by May 10th.

The five best narratives will be awarded by impact category, each receiving a pecuniary prize of €2,000, along with other distinctions described in the challenge's regulation
