The renowned doctor and public health specialist was recognised with the title of Doctor "honoris causa" by NOVA in the year 2012.

The renowned economist was a professor at Nova SBE and was distinguished with an Honorary Doctorate by NOVA in 2017.

At the last conference, at the national level, of the European project SPEAR, of which NOVA is part, the highlight was the Rector of NOVA, João Sàágua, announcing the creation of an office for equality in the university. "We must all be aware that the commitment assumed is a collective responsibility, whose success depends on the actions of each element of the NOVA community", highlighted Isabel L. Nunes, the Vice-Rector who coordinates this area.     

NOVA is a partner of this award that culminates with the attribution of a 25.000 euro grant to the project that best addresses the issue of Sustainability of Health Systems.

NOVA University Lisbon expresses solidarity with the victims of the intense earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria, and the Social Services have already provided psychological support services to students from these two countries.
