Cláudia Trabuco

Degree in Law (University of Lisbon, 1997); LLM (College of Europe, Belgium, 1998), Ph.D. in Private Law (NOVA University of Lisbon, 2005). Currently is Assistant Professor at NOVA University of Lisbon, where she teaches Copyright Law, Industrial Property Law and some subjects of Private Law. Has coordinated and taught several seminars and conferences in the fields of IP Law, Competition Law and the interface between Public Procurement and Competition Law.

Formerly was legal advisor at the Portuguese Ministry of Justice (from 2003 to 2006), advisor to the board of the Portuguese Competition Authority (from 2006 to 2008), and counsel in one of the major lawyers firms in Portugal – PLMJ – where she has worked mostly in the areas of EU and Competition Law and Intellectual Property Law (from 2008 to 2012). From May 2012, she is Legal Counsel to the multinational pharma company Gilead Sciences.

In the latest years, has also been visiting professor in several Universities both in Portugal and abroad (Spain, Angola, Mozambique). Has several works published, mostly in Intellectual Property Law, Electronic Commerce and also about the interface between IP Rights and Competition Law, and has extensive experience in making presentations and seminars in several scientific and business encounters related to those same issues.
