NOVA University Lisbon today presented its Tourism and Hospitality Platform – NOVA TOHO.
With the pandemic bringing new challenges to Tourism, namely in terms of health and safety, and accelerating transformations that lead to greater digitalization and sustainability, NOVA TOHO emerges as a platform that aims to create and spread knowledge, as well as to promote innovation in this area.
From management to data and information technology, from health to heritage and sustainability, NOVA TOHO brings together different areas of knowledge, aiming to establish itself as a space for training and creativity at the service of the community; establish partnerships with industry, government institutions and national and international academic institutions; and contribute, as a center of excellence, to the development of the local, regional and global economic environment.
It should be noted that, before the pandemic, tourism represented 12.5% of the national GDP, with Portugal being considered one of the most competitive and sustainable destinations in the world.
In addition to the presentation of NOVA TOHO, the launch event was also an opportunity to discuss the future of Tourism, in a round table that featured national and international experts.
