This course is designed for scientists seeking to broaden the idea of what innovation is and to know how to create value from their research activities. Particularly, this course aims to provide PhD students, young scientists and even more senior researchers with proper tools needed to put their research and ideas into a wider context, namely on the valorization of research results and their benefits to society. This will stimulate the transfer of scientific results to the general public, contributing to enhanced innovation and cooperation between academia, industry, investors and society as a whole.

Research Ethics Course

Research ethics is a hot topic. Conducting research is a fascinating but challenging activity that involves very different ethical issues, such as bias, fraud, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, falsification of research results, informed consent, attribution of authorship and adequacy of peer review publication processes.

    Scientific Text Processing with LaTeX

    Are you an researcher or a typographer?

    If you are a typographer, then this course is not for you. But if you are a researcher, then in this course you can learn how to use LaTeX, a scientific document preparation system that allows you to concentrate on the structure and content of the text without having to worry about the typographic details. And by the way, LaTeX is great at producing great-looking, typographically-correct documents - far better than the usual word processors.
