New President of the Aga Khan University visited NOVA University Lisbon

The meeting brought together the new President of the Aga Khan University (AKU), the Rector, Prof. João Sàágua, and Vice-Rector Prof. João Amaro de Matos, to discuss the synergies and upcoming collaboration between both institutions

 

The new President of the Aga Khan University (AKU), Sulaiman Shahabuddin together with a senior team composed by the Provost and Vice-President Dr. Carl Amrhein and the Associate Vice Provost for Global Engagement, Farzana Karim-Haji, visited NOVA University Lisbon on the morning of May 5th. This delegation was received by the Rector, Prof. João Sàágua and Vice-Rector Prof. João Amaro de Matos. In this meeting, the participants discussed the synergies and upcoming collaboration between both institutions.

As part of the visit, the AKU delegation met with academic staff from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, NOVA Medical School, National School of Public Health and NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities. This was an opportunity to introduce to the new President of AKU the ongoing joint academic activities and scientific collaboration in the areas of Health, Tropical Medicine and Anthropology.
